About

The Founder’s Access period gives MSCW players a rare chance to experience the opening game before the full community arrives. Beginning October 6, 2026, qualifying Founder’s Package owners can start developing their characters ahead of the October 21 Grand Launch. Since progress carries over completely, time spent earning levels and MSCW Mesos during early access remains part of the live character.

This also means early access can be useful for learning the economy before it becomes busier. Players can gradually collect MSCW Mesos, experiment with equipment, and learn which activities fit their preferred job. Rather than rushing simply because other players have not arrived yet, a steady approach can help create a more comfortable starting position.

Permanent Progress Changes the Early Game

The most important rule for Founder’s Access is simple: character progress is permanent.

There is no planned character wipe when the game moves from Founder’s Access into the free-to-play Grand Launch. Your character, experience, equipment, and other earned progress remain with you.

That changes how players can approach those first two weeks. Early access is not just a preview that disappears later. It is the first part of the character's actual progression.

It is also an excellent time to secure a character name. Popular names may become harder to claim once the public launch begins, so players who already know what they want to play can create their preferred character early.

Understand the Opening Content

Players should also remember that the initial game world has clear limits.

Victoria Island is the main available area at launch, and progression is limited to Second Job skills. Third Job content will not be available immediately.

Because of these restrictions, there is little value in treating the early period as a race toward content that has not opened yet. The game instead encourages gradual progression through quests, exploration, monster hunting, equipment upgrades, and learning the available jobs.

This slower pace is an important part of the experience. Players coming from modern games may initially expect faster leveling, but the opening version is designed around a more traditional progression rhythm.

Choose a Main Character Carefully

Founder’s Access is a good time to decide which job you want to develop seriously.

Players who already have a preferred job can focus on building that character from the beginning. Those who are unsure can spend a little time trying different options before settling on a main.

Once a main character is chosen, learning the early skill rotation and equipment requirements becomes more useful than constantly switching between characters. You can also explore quest routes and town layouts while the stakes are still relatively low.

An early understanding of movement around Victoria Island can save plenty of unnecessary travel later. Knowing where important NPCs and quest locations are makes the slower progression feel much less confusing.

Manage Your Founder’s Rewards

Founder’s Package rewards should not be left sitting in the mailbox indefinitely.

Every Founder’s Package item must be claimed by November 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM UTC. Items that remain unclaimed after this deadline will expire and be permanently deleted.

There is also a 30-day opening period once a package has been moved into your inventory. Players should therefore keep track of both deadlines rather than assuming that claiming a reward means it can remain unopened forever.

Cosmetic outfit packages can be traded between characters on the same account. This gives players the option to retrieve the package early and decide which character should eventually receive the cosmetic items.

Prepare Before Grand Launch

The period between Founder’s Access and Grand Launch is long enough to establish a useful routine without needing to rush every available activity. Focus on understanding your job, exploring the available maps, completing useful quests, and organizing your inventory.

The early economy is another part of that preparation. Learning what players value and how trading develops can help you make more informed decisions about your resources. Players interested in expanding their inventories or character setups can also browse MapleStory Classic World Items while planning what they want to accomplish after launch.

When October 21 arrives, Founder’s Access players will already have permanent characters and established routines. The biggest benefit of starting early is not simply having extra days of play. It is having those days become part of the character's lasting progression.
