I'm absolutely over the moon with it, the car is stunning, comfortable, and drives like a dream compared to anything I've owned before. But I'll be honest, I still don't fully understand the gearbox in this thing and I feel like I should know better since I'm now an Audi owner. I know it's called S tronic and it's some kind of dual-clutch system, but I'm not entirely sure what that actually means in practical terms, like how it differs from a regular automatic or if I should be driving it any differently. I've been trying to read up on it to get a proper understanding, and I found a really clear Expert Audi Transmission Explained article that broke it down in plain English without all the technical jargon that usually goes over my head. It explained how the two clutches work to pre-select the next gear so shifts are instantaneous, and why that makes the car feel so responsive when you put your foot down. Now I finally understand why it feels so different to the CVT in my old Nissan, and I know the shifts are meant to be quick and a bit more noticeable than a traditional slushbox automatic. I'm glad I took the time to learn about it because apparently there are a few things you shouldn't do with a dual-clutch, like creeping in traffic or holding it on hills with the throttle, which I probably would have done without thinking.
