One thing Reginae Carter is going to do is defend her daddy, Lil Wayne, okay! The 26-year-old went all the way off during a recent live stream after someone was all up in her comments sharing their thoughts on Wayne’s new album, ‘Tha Carter VI.’ With the record catching some major shade since its drop, Reginae made it real clear that she’s not here for the disrespect towards her dad. Here’s the lowdown…
On Sunday, June 15, Reginae was not in the mood for the nonsense. During a livestream, she quickly checked a commenter who called her Lil Wayne’s new album “trash.” Sis didn’t hesitate to read the individual for filth.
In a clip obtained by LiveBitez, Regina went in, saying the only reason people are hating is because the album isn’t TikTok dance material.
“This is what I hate about y’all kids. The fact that y’all can’t get on TikTok and do a little dance to it doesn’t mean it’s trash, babes!” she said with a laugh. “The fact that you can’t do a lil’ one-two, lil’ viral moment for it, that doesn’t mean it’s trash,” Reginae continued.
The actress then doubled down, defending her dad’s work, adding that Wayne was “talking his sh**” on the album. Additionally, Reginae described his new music as “universal,” saying she could hear it being played in malls and possibly even featured in video games.“It’s universal, my love! You can hear it in NBA 2K, at the mall, all types of stuff,” she added, emphasizing that the new songs have replay value beyond social media.
Reginae implied that if people were more open-minded than to have their heads stuck on social media all day, they’d see that Wayne is a lyricist first. “If you can’t understand it, move in silence and get the f**k outta here,” she continued.
This isn’t the first time Reginae has come to her father’s defense. Back in February, when Weezy took to the stage at the ‘Saturday Night Live’s’ 50th anniversary special with The Roots, sis threw some shade at those who didn’t appreciate the performance.
Some social media users had criticized the New Orleans native’s set, and the feedback had clearly struck a nerve with Reginae, who clapped back in The Shade Room’s comments section.
“Y’all are some d riders! My dad been having fun performing for years! He is truly himself when he hit the stage. Go play with y’all mf kids .. he collected a check after this .. what y’all get for hating? Not a damn thing!”
But Wayne has also been putting in work to achieve his success, having recently promoted the album with his 2025 BET Awards performance, which included ‘Welcome To Tha Carter’ and ‘A Milli.’
