After Cassie spent four days sharing her testimony in Diddy‘s trial, Alex Fine has released a statement through her attorney, Doug Wigdor, praising his wife’s strength. Shortly after concluding her final day of taking the stand, Alex addressed speculations about his feelings as he sat and listened to Cassie recount her experiences with Diddy.
Alex Fine laid his emotions bare, admitting he’s been on quite a wild ride during the trial. While Alex is beaming with pride and love for Cassie, the fitness trainer admits he was fired up about her having to come face to face with her alleged abuser.
“I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her,” he said, per CNN. But Alex made it clear that Diddy didn’t dim his wife’s light despite what she’s accused him of. “You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room,” he added.
Alex went on to praise the mother of his kids, saying they couldn’t touch the soul of a woman who gives the best hugs and is a doting mom to their two children. “You did not break the woman who has made me a better man,” he said. He let it be known that Cassie’s strength has been unmatched throughout.
And for those who’ve been pushing the savior narrative on social media, Alex made sure to respond to the comments. He called it an “insult” to his wife, who has worked hard to overcome the trauma stemming from her decade-long relationship with Diddy.
He said she fought demons only someone as cold as the imprisoned music mogul could throw her way. But now, her life is “surrounded by love, laughter, and our family,” Alex shared.
Alex also didn’t shy away from the online chatter. He specifically addressed questions about how he felt hearing Cassie recount the alleged “freak-off” experiences with Diddy. Alex said the speculation about his own emotions was irrelevant. In fact, he referred to all of the talk as an “insult.”
“I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie. She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her. All I have done is love her as she has loved me.”
Alex made it clear that her spirit is untouchable, no matter what Cassie’s been through. Moreover, he’s right there by her side as they close this chapter of their lives. And with baby number three due to pop any day now, Alex had one final request: respect their privacy.
“We appreciate all of the love and support we have received, and we ask that you respect our privacy as we welcome our son into a world that is now safer because of his mom,” he said.
