On Wednesday, May 28, Claressa hopped on Instagram to clear the air. In a video obtained by LiveBitez, the 30-year-old champ addressed claims that Papoose has been helping her with outfits, getting her hair done, and adjusting her makeup routine. Claressa says that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Y’all looking at pictures from when I was 17 and comparing them to now, saying, ‘Oh, this is before Pap, and this is after Pap.’ No,” Claressa said.
She doubled down, reminding everyone she’s been a “fly bad a*s chick” since her early 20s. “It’s a reason why he’s attracted to me,” she added, clocking the haters.
To drive her point home, Claressa took us back to the exact moment she met Papoose. She recalled THIS photo, in which she wore denim shorts and a pink top at a sports event. “I was already stepping on necks before Pap came through,” she said. Claressa made it clear she and Papoose add value to each other’s lives. “We make each other better,” she admitted, but she was quick to shut down the narrative that her glow-up is all thanks to him. “Love you down, but no. C’mon,” she said.
