Things are heating up in the co-parenting feud between DDG and Halle Bailey — and this latest twist has everyone talking. While the details have been kept pretty tight, DDG has just made a serious legal move that could change the game for their infant son, Halo.
According to court documents filed Wednesday, DDG is asking a judge to block Halle from taking their son out of the country, specifically stopping her from flying with Halo to Italy this weekend. DDG claims Halle poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their child and that she isn’t mentally stable enough to care for herself, let alone their son. He’s apparently worried about what could happen if she leaves the court’s jurisdiction.
The rapper backs up his concerns by alleging some troubling behavior from Halle, including a past incident when she allegedly took his gun and left the house without telling him where she was going. DDG further claims he found her outside, just holding the weapon, while she was pregnant. Additionally, in another alleged incident, he claims Halle tried to have an abortion behind his back, before changing her mind. He also says that, just two months after Halo was born, Halle sent him alarming texts threatening self-harm and suggesting pain might come to their baby.
“A parent who has threatened suicide repeatedly — who has armed herself with a firearm while in emotional crisis, who has driven with the child in a potentially suicidal state, and who continues to escalate when emotionally dysregulated — cannot be entrusted to care for a vulnerable infant abroad, without the safety net of California court supervision, welfare checks, mental health intervention or child protective services,” DDG’s lawyer, Larry Bakman, reportedly wrote in the emotion.
DDG has also taken another legal step by filing for a restraining order against Halle Bailey, claiming that he was the victim of abuse during their relationship. According to reports, he submitted photos of a deep cut on his hand to the court, which he says Halle caused. Aside from asking the court to block her from taking their son overseas, DDG is seeking a stay-away order for Bailey and seeking sole custody of Halo. If that’s denied, he wants all custody exchanges to be supervised by a neutral third party.
At this time, Terry Levich Ross, an attorney for Bailey, has reacted to the claims set by DDG, saying they’re “inaccurate,” per Billboard. Meanwhile, a judge should issue a decision on Bailey’s upcoming travel plans by the end of the week. Additionally, a full hearing has been set for June 24 to explore the ex-couple’s competing petitions.
Social media is buzzing over DDG’s emergency motion, with fans divided on the drama unfolding between him and Halle. Some are siding with DDG, while others are alluding to him going after Halle out of spite. The intense back-and-forth has sparked mixed reactions in The Shade Room’s Instagram comment section.

This isn’t the first time their co-parenting situation has been messy. Halle has accused DDG of abuse in the past, including a serious allegation that he slammed her face into a steering wheel, chipping her tooth.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Halle requested a restraining order and an order to prevent child abduction, citing DDG’s history of not being cooperative regarding Halo. Additionally, she asked the judge to block DDG from traveling with Halo or getting passports without her approval. If they travel with her permission, she noted wanting all details, contact info, and a return ticket, just in case.
Furthermore, ‘The Little Mermaid’ star wants the judge to deny DDG unsupervised visits with Halo. She’s asking him to have supervised visits once a week for six hours with a professional present while Halo is in Los Angeles.
