Rumi Carter is switching it up on Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour, and the Roomies instantly took notice of the change. It was just less than two weeks ago when Bey’s youngest daughter was hitting the stage with all the hype, waving at the crowd like she just won her first Grammy. But four shows deep, and baby girl is now serving up a whole new energy. Here’s what happened.
On Wednesday, May 7, Rumi popped out at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for her fourth performance alongside Queen Bey and big sis Blue Ivy. As you know, Rumi makes a special appearance during Bey’s performance of ‘Protector.’ But this time? The seven-year-old was on a new level of chill. No more wild waves or stares in disbelief at the enormous crowd. Rumi came out holding her mama’s hand, hitting fans with a royal wave. IKTR!
As the viral clip continues, Bey gets down on one knee, serenading her baby girl, while Rumi remains cool as a cucumber. She kept it cute with a few more waves, standing front and center while Blue and the tour dancers held it down in the back with the choreo. And when Bey wrapped it up, the ‘Heated’ singer looked at Rumi like only a proud mama could, saying, “Beautiful job, baby girl.”
But the real tea? Rumi was such a professional; SHE grabbed Blue’s hand to be led off stage. In her past performances, it’s Blue who has been guiding her. We see you, Rumi.
The Roomies also spotted a noticeable difference in Rumi’s demeanor as they flooded the comments section of TSR’s post. Peep what some of them had to say…
@leondre wrote, “what’d they do to her, omg she came back out a whole different child
”
@4dione wrote, “You can tell they had a talk with Rumi”
@Sylvia.hussein.fit wrote, “They put Rumi on a Performance improvement plan and ion like that lmao”

@callmeallmond added, “It gives “Yall done got me written up” ”
@_jey.b wrote, “It’s the look back at Blue like “see I can be good” ”
@jadaiaaa_k commented, “It’s giving ‘Guys you’re gonna get me in trouble ’
she’s sooo cute.”
Meanwhile, @autumnjoilive wrote, “Awww bring back the original overly excited Rumi who was just happy to be there they made my boo chill out”
@brwnsuga675 expressed, “these little facial expressions and brow raises are sarcastic as hell… it’s giving “this is how they want me to do it guysssss… it’s boring i knowwww.. but a girl needs her jobbbbbbb u guysssss” ”
@rickdarulah wrote, “Awww they made her hold in her excitement . I liked her enthusiasm.”
@blackadventuremom added, “That royal wave has Blue written all over it ”
On night two on the ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour, Rumi’s excitement appeared to have left her grandma, Tina Knowles, somewhat irritated. While Beyoncé was trying to shout out her mom for hitting number one on the New York Times’ Best Seller list with her memoir ‘Matriarch,’ Rumi was feeling the energy in the room a bit much. In footage posted by TSR, Rumi can be seen jumping up and down in the middle of Bey’s speech.
But y’all already know, Miss Tina doesn’t play. She gave her granddaughter the classic mama stare — the one that stops you in your tracks when you’re acting up as a child. Rumi got checked quickly, and the mood for that split second was “Oop!”
Here’s a closer look at Mama Tina’s reaction:
I know Mama Tina be judging Bey’s disciplinary tactics!! I know that look!
