Finesse2tymes is a free man again, y’all. The Memphis rapper landed himself a big break after a judge dismissed his terroristic threat case. In recently filed court documents, prosecutors revealed why they couldn’t proceed with their investigation. Here’s the lowdown…
According to court documents filed on Friday, May 9, prosecutors moved to dismiss his terroristic threat case due to a lack of evidence, per TMZ. The judge signed off on the dismissal shortly after, handing the rapper a significant legal victory.
The charges stemmed from an October 2024 incident outside a smoke shop in Humble, Texas. A woman, identified as the guardian of 11-year-old rapper FNG King, claimed Finesse threatened to shoot her during an argument over the young rapper.
She alleged he lifted his shirt to show a gun and said he’d “up that fire.” But without enough proof to back her claims, the case started to crumble, with Finesse subsequently walking away.
After the dismissal, the rapper took to social media on Saturday, May 10, sharing footage of himself leaving jail. Finesse wore a grey hoodie and sweatpants, shouting, “No shackles, no shackles!” He pointed his phone at his wrist and ankles, with no cuffs in sight. “Free, I’m free!” he hollered before flashing a big stack of cash.
In the accompanying caption, he wrote, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” Additionally, in another photo added to the post, Finesse is posing outside the jail, cash in hand, looking very happy.
On Friday, May 2, the rapper turned himself in to federal authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He had reportedly violated his probation, tied to that messy terroristic threats case. And according to TMZ, Finesse slipped up twice on top of that.
Court docs say he failed drug tests in 2022 and 2024, testing positive for marijuana both times. Keep in mind, Finesse had already been on supervised release since July 2022, after serving nearly four years for a federal gun charge.
The Texas smoke shop drama, on top of those failed drug tests, subsequently meant he was set to face some serious consequences. Fortunately, though, dismissing the terrorist threat case has given Finesse a breather.
