"We only have one shot at this guy..." So go get him, Detective! Amazon's Prime Video has unveiled the full official trailer for a detective series set in Los Angeles titled Ballard, streaming in July this summer. This "marks the first series in Amazon MGM Studios' Bosch franchise, inspired by the work of bestselling author Michael Connelly, that is not led by Titus Welliver" this time around. Ballard stars actress Maggie Q as a LAPD detective (also in the Connelly novels) named Renee Ballard - who oversees a new cold case division at the L.A. Police Department, and gets into some deep water digging into some of these cases. The full cast includes Q with John Carroll Lynch, Rebecca Field, Michael Mosley, Amy Hill, Victoria Moroles, Courtney Taylor, Hector Hugo, Noah Bean, and Michael Cassidy. Plus Welliver appearing as Harry Bosch connected to the previous series. This looks a lot like the Dept Q series on Netflix, but this is set in LA and from Prime Video instead - very similar concept in many ways. Might be good?
