OG ‘RHOA’ fans remember Dwight Eubanks—the always-fabulous hairstylist with a flair for fashion and a sharp tongue to match. But now, Dwight is stepping back into the spotlight for something much more serious. In a new interview, he revealed that he’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Dwight Announces Cancer Battle
In an exclusive interview with People, Dwight revealed that he first learned of his diagnosis earlier this year after routine bloodwork at a health fair hosted by his church. And, a follow-up PSA test in April confirmed it was prostate cancer. The 64-year-old admitted he was “shocked” and “angry,” saying the word alone left him “emotionally a wreck.” The reality TV star also mentioned that his grandfather had prostate cancer. However, Dwight shared that he didn’t think he was at risk due to the history coming from his mother’s side.
“When you hear the word cancer, you freak out. I’m human. Society has told us that cancer was just devastating and, you know, you just have days to live. So, of course, I freaked out and I think I’m still freaked out.”

More Details On His Health
Living with HIV since the 1980s, Dwight has always maintained regular medical check-ups. However, a 2022 blood test showing elevated PSA levels was overlooked by his doctor, a mistake that Dwight found disheartening. Now, he is working with a team of medical professionals to develop a treatment plan. Furthermore, Dwight is raising awareness of the disease and partnering with ZERO Prostate Cancer as their new brand ambassador.
After watching a close friend endure a traumatic battle with prostate cancer just four years ago, Dwight is apparently determined to avoid the same path. The ‘RHOA’ alum shared that he’s not planning to have his prostate removed and is still weighing his options with his medical team.
“We are exploring possibilities to see what route to go and we have not come up with that yet,” he said.
Backed by a team of four doctors—including two urologists, a specialist, and his family physician—Dwight says he feels supported and is grateful to be in good hands.
“We are going to figure it out,” he added.
