"Over the show, we see him fall back in love with this sport. This is a story about choosing to do scary things." Apple TV has revealed a quick promo featurette for the sports comedy drama series titled
Stick, arriving to watch
streaming in June. The series is a "heartfelt, feel-good comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before."
Owen Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi. The show's main cast includes
Peter Dager,
Marc Maron,
Mariana Treviño,
Lilli Kay,
Judy Greer, and
Timothy Olyphant, and also features guest appearances from golf superstars such as Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark and more. This is a nice featurette that complements the
trailer, showing more footage and including interviews with Owen Wilson and young star Peter Dager as Santi. This actually looks like it might be worth the watch - an uplifting series about how golf really is more exciting than most people think. Enjoy. //
