Amber Rose is clapping back at the haters who came for her after she boldly declared herself an “African Queen” in a recent Instagram post. But sis made it clear she’s standing by her caption. In true Amber fashion, she’s serving up an unapologetic response, telling her critics, “Kiss my a**,” because, according to her, we’re all African Queens. Here’s the lowdown…
On Friday, May 9, the reality star was stopped by paparazzi who quizzed her on her thoughts about the backlash that came with her recent snap on Instagram. Amber’s standing ten toes down on her claim, reminding everybody that all humans trace their roots back to Africa, the cradle of humanity. “We all come from the motherland,” she said, doubling down on her point that every person, regardless of their skin tone, shares that ancestral connection, chile.
And when folks tried to press her about whether white people can claim the title of African Queen, too, Amber didn’t flinch. “100%, because we all come from Africa, babe,” she responded. Additionally, she urged people to stop getting caught up in their feelings and embrace the supposed universal truth.
She’s no stranger to the continent either, having visited multiple times. In fact, she was just in Kenya in April when she was filming ‘Baddies Africa’ alongside Natalie Nunn and the cast. Further on in her chat with the photographer, she spilled on how differently race is viewed over there compared to the U.S.
According to Amber, the energy in the African countries she’s visited is all about heart, not skin color.
“They don’t talk about race like they do over here in America,” she explained. “If you’re a good person, that’s all they care about.”
The Philly native painted a picture of acceptance out there, sharing how locals welcomed her with open arms, saying, “Welcome home,” the moment she stepped off the plane.
The Roomies wasted no time reacting to Amber’s comments. They took to the comments section of TSR’s post, and whew, they had a lot to say. Here are some of their reactions…
